The geography of where you were born shaped it first. Municipal treatment followed. Then pipes. The age of the building, the materials used, the distance from the source. Bottled water became the workaround.
What actually reaches the glass is a longer story than the label describes. What touches the skin every morning in the shower is a different chapter of the same one.

The water runs through a Multipure beside the sink first, then finishes through a Kangen tap. Two different systems: each one placed intentionally, each doing a different job.
I built the setup slowly, one decision at a time.

Filtration first, always. These are the countertop and under-sink systems I use and recommend for drinking and cooking water.
1. Filter First
Multipure uses solid carbon block filtration to reduce a broad range of contaminants. Product certifications and performance vary by system, so review the manufacturer's specifications for the model you choose.
2. Ionize Second
The K8 uses electrolysis with eight platinum-dipped titanium plates to generate five water types across a pH range of 2.5–11.5. Use it after appropriate filtration and follow the manufacturer's instructions.
Aquaperform
Solid carbon block filtration in a stainless-steel under-sink housing. NSF/ANSI certified to Standards 42, 53, and 401. A dedicated drinking-water system that can be used with the K8 or independently.
Aquaversa
Solid carbon block filtration for countertop or under-sink use. NSF/ANSI certified to Standards 42, 53, and 401. A flexible option for smaller kitchens, rental homes, or setups that may need to move.
Aqualuxe
Nanomesh™ and solid carbon block filtration in a stainless-steel housing. NSF/ANSI certified to Standards 42, 53, 401, and P231. Available in countertop, under-sink, and inline configurations.
Aquapremier
Carbon block filtration with built-in Nanomesh™ technology in a stainless-steel housing. NSF/ANSI certified to Standards 42, 53, 401, and P231. A countertop option for kitchens where an under-sink installation is not the right fit.
I use Multipure prefilters alongside my K8 machine. The quality of the water is sooo much better compared to my old plastic 3-stage prefilters.
